Advanced Electronics: Real-Time Data Collection & Communication


At the heart of our CanSat’s mission is a sophisticated electronics system designed to collect and transmit critical flight data in real time. Throughout the launch, descent, and landing phases, our payload will continuously gather telemetry data—including GPS coordinates, rotor speed, air pressure, magnetic field strength, and more—ensuring a comprehensive analysis of our mission’s performance.


To relay this data back to our ground system, we are integrating XBee radio communication, a proven technology that allows for reliable, long-range transmission. Our custom-built ground station will track the CanSat’s descent, enabling real-time monitoring and data visualization—crucial for validating our aerodynamic and control system performance.


Powering this system is a set of lightweight, high-efficiency batteries, carefully selected to sustain operations throughout the entire mission, including pre-launch wait times. Every electronic component is designed for optimal performance, minimal weight, and maximum reliability, making this an exciting engineering challenge.


Developing and refining this advanced electronics system requires extensive testing, fine-tuning, and high-quality components.
