Mechanical
Our CanSat team is pushing the boundaries of aerospace engineering with an advanced counterweight boom mechanism, a sophisticated system designed to stabilize flight and enhance aerodynamic control. This mechanism uses a strategically placed counterweight extended by a boom arm to shift the CanSat’s center of gravity, ensuring smooth and predictable descent—an innovation that sets our design apart in the competition.

Achieving this level of control is no small feat. Our design incorporates precision-engineered baffles and standoffs, which not only optimize airflow but are also built to withstand extreme conditions, including shocks of up to 30G and intense vibrations during deployment. Every component has been carefully selected for durability, efficiency, and thermal stability. By leveraging high-performance materials that effectively dissipate heat, our CanSat can endure temperatures exceeding 60°C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding atmospheric conditions.

The complexity of our mechanical structures and the challenge of fine-tuning this stabilization system make our project a true feat of engineering. With the support of dedicated funders, we can continue refining our innovations and pushing the limits of what’s possible in small-scale aerospace technology.
